Learn how to make Easy and Tasty Bharwan Karela at home with Chef Ruchi Bharani on Rajshri Food.<br /><br />Bharwan Karela a unique and interesting delicacy made with bitter gourd. stuffed with the spiced masala to make it tasty and loveable. Try this and let us know how it turned out.<br /><br /><br />Ingredients:<br />(Serves 4)<br /><br />- 500gms Bitter Gourd(Karela)<br />- Salt<br />- 2 tbsp Oil<br />- 2 Onions(Finely Chopped)<br />- 2 tbsp Gram flour<br />- 1/2 tsp Cumin Seed powder(roasted)<br />- 2 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder<br />- 1 tsp Coriander & Cumin seed powder<br />- 2 tsp Fennel seed powder<br />- 1/2 tsp Garam masala<br />- 1/2 tsp Chaat masala<br />- 2 tbsp Roasted peanuts<br />- 2tbsp fresh coconut (grated)<br />- Water<br />Method:<br /><br />1. Take a Bitter gourd(karela), cut the side and clean the peel<br /><br />2. Slit in the center and scoop out all the seeds<br /><br />3. Do the same, for all the 500Gms bitter gourd<br /><br />4. Add a dash of salt on top of the Bitter Gourd, mix it well and let it sit for 10 minutes<br /><br />5. Take 2 tsp oil in a pan and add onions<br /><br />6. Saute it well for around 2-3 minutes, then add gram flour and let it roast with onions <br /><br />7. Add roasted cumin seed powder, Kashmiri red chilli, coriander & cumin seed powder, fennel seed powder, garam masala, chaat masala, roasted peanuts, salt and mix it.<br /><br />8. Add freshly grated coconut, add little water and let it cool<br /><br />9. Rinse the bitter gourd and dry it<br /><br />10. Fill it with the prepared filling and tie it with thread<br /><br />11. Heat some oil and then cook the bitter gourd.<br /><br />12. Add salt and let it cook for about 10 mins<br /><br />13. Take the leftover filling and add water to make gravy<br /><br />14. Chop the threads and serve it with the gravy.
